The Ohio Latino Affairs Commission is pleased to announce the 42nd Annual Distinguished Hispanic Ohioan Awards Gala, set to occur October 14, 2023 at The Grand Event Center at Grandview Yard starting at 6:00 pm. Comprised of three award categories The Distinguished Hispanic Ohioan (DHO), Latino Military Service Award of Distinction and Nuestra Familia Award. This event honors individuals and organizations that have demonstrated outstanding achievements in their professional or community service endeavors, and who serve as role models for the growing Hispanic community in Ohio. The event is open to the public, and tickets cost is $85 per person with dinner included.

Distinguished Hispanic Ohioan Awardees: Catherine Hernandez Hogan (Dayton), Frank Ocasio (New Middletown), Jose Morales Crispin (Hilliard), Lillian Morales Laster (Pickerington), Marcia Moreno (Rocky River), Mark Urrutia (Toledo), Pamela Rincones (Cincinnati), Victor Ortiz (Lorain), and Vince Cantu (Paulding).

Military Service of Distinction Awardees: US Military First Sergeant Anibal Matos (Westerville), US Air Force Senior Master Sergeant David Brown (Toledo), US Navy Special Agent DiMaris Medina Cortes (Columbus), and US Navy Gilbert Esparza (Fairborn).
