National Hispanic Heritage Month – celebrated in the United States from September 15 to October 15 – recognizes the historical and cultural contributions Hispanic Americans make to the United States. Community members are invited to celebrate this rich, diverse culture by participating in events specially created for DML’s Latinx and Hispanic programming:

DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS PARADE

Saturday, October 22, 12pm – 5 pm
Main Library and Cooper Park

This community event is family oriented and kid friendly! Pre-parade festivities will take place at the starting point of the parade, in the parking lot located in the north-east corner of Fifth Street and Wayne Avenue. Stop by to enjoy sugar skull face painting, music, dancers, and performers. The parade begins at 2 pm. and will travel through the Oregon District, on Fifth Street, turning right on Patterson Blvd. The parade will conclude at the Main Library and Cooper Park at 3 pm. (Total distance is 0.5 mile.)
