Subject: Virtual Public Participation Meetings to be held regarding the DRAFT list of transportation projects for the 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan Update
Dayton, OH – The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) will hold two virtual Public Participation Meetings regarding the DRAFT list of transportation projects and strategies for the 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan Update. The Long Range Transportation Plan is a long-range (20+ year) strategy and capital improvement program developed to guide the effective investment of public funds in multi-modal transportation facilities. The plan is updated every five years and is prepared by MVRPC in cooperation with local and state officials, and other coordinating agencies. The meetings will take place via Zoom, a video conferencing platform, and will be held as follows:
Tuesday, October 20, 2020 – 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Wednesday, October 21, 2020 – 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

After a brief presentation focusing on how to find information and comment on projects, MVRPC staff will accept comments and answer questions regarding the DRAFT projects and strategies. This is an opportunity for the general public to have a say in the future of transportation in the Miami Valley Region.
If you are unable to attend, information on the 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan Update will also be available for public review on MVRPC’s website at plan2050.mvrpc.org/outreach/ and at the MVRPC offices, 10 North Ludlow St., Suite 700, Dayton, OH, 45402, during regular business hours (9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday), on or before October 19, 2020. Written comments regarding the 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan will be accepted at the above address until November 16, 2020. You may submit your comments online at plan2050.mvrpc.org or via e-mail to plan2050@mvrpc.org.
At all MVRPC public participation meetings, interpreters for hearing impaired individuals or bi-lingual interpreters are available upon request. Requests should be made at least one week prior to the meeting date. Contact MVRPC at (937) 223-6323 or 1-800-750-0750 TTY/TDD to request an interpreter.
Established in 1964, the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission promotes collaboration among communities, stakeholders, and residents to advance regional priorities. MVRPC is a forum and resource where the Board of Directors identifies priorities and develops public policy and collaborative strategies to improve quality of life throughout the Miami Valley Region. MVRPC performs various regional planning activities, including air quality, water quality, transportation, land use, research and GIS. As the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), MVRPC is responsible for transportation planning in Greene, Miami and Montgomery Counties and parts of northern Warren County. MVRPC’s areawide water quality planning designation encompasses five (5) counties: Darke, Preble plus the three MPO counties.
