Virtual Lunch and Learn: Surveillance Technology and Surplus Military Equipment
There is a virtual Lunch and Learn: Surveillance Technology and Surplus Military Equipment
This coming Thursday, March 17, at noon. There was a similar event back in January and it was interesting! Highly recommend it!
The event will feature an ACLU attorney discussing how Cities and Police Departments currently acquire surveillance technologies to use on the communities they serve, what we as community members can do to stay informed about technologies being used to surveil and police us, and how we can ensure that we have an opportunity to provide input to public officials about how we would like to be served.
Regardless of how you feel about specific technologies or about police surveillance in general, this initiative is about increasing government transparency, civic education, and civic participation. The Lunch & Learn is supported by a coalition of community organizations, including
